The Lagos State Police Command has reported that its officers recovered a Toyota Sienna containing items suspected to be cannabis, along with other exhibits, during a routine stop-and-search operation.
Eko Hot Blog reports that in a statement posted on X by the state police spokesperson, Ben Hundeyin, the command said the operation was conducted by officers from the Ojo Division.

The statement explained, “On 15 August 2025, while on routine patrol, operatives stopped an ash-coloured Toyota Sienna. When asked to present identification and vehicle documents, the driver suddenly jumped out and fled with the car keys, abandoning the vehicle.”
A detailed search of the car led to the discovery of several items, including an Army jungle hat, two ATM cards, and two bags of substances suspected to be cannabis.
The recovered vehicle and items have been transferred to Special Squad 2 at the Lagos State Police Command in Ikeja for further investigation.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, commended the swift actions of the Ojo Division officers and reassured the public of the command’s commitment to apprehending the suspect.
He emphasised the continued focus on patrols and intelligence-led policing across Lagos and urged residents to report suspicious activity.
The command confirmed that investigations are ongoing and promised that the fleeing driver will be brought to justice.
