Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has urged beneficiaries of her empowerment program in Ondo State to utilize the support for self-sustenance and business growth, rather than for quick financial gain.
Eko Hot Blog reports that through her Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), Mrs. Tinubu distributed valuable tools like deep freezers, gas cookers, generators, and industrial grinding machines to 500 women across all 18 local government areas of the state.

Speaking at the event in Akure, the First Lady, represented by Mrs. Oluwaseun Aiyedatiwa, the wife of the Ondo State Governor, emphasized the crucial role women play in Nigeria’s economic development.
She noted that the program’s second phase in Ondo aims to reduce poverty and promote entrepreneurship among women. The initiative will provide support to a total of 18,500 women nationwide, with the goal of fostering a more inclusive and prosperous society.

Representatives from the President’s office and the Ondo State government praised the program. Mrs. Adejoke Adefulure, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals, praised Mrs. Tinubu’s visionary leadership.
The Ondo State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Dr. Seun Osamaye, also described the initiative as a bold step that would make the women more economically independent and help them fulfill their potential.
