Hilda Baci, a former Guinness World Record holder for the longest individual cooking marathon, has announced plans to attempt a new record, this time for the largest pot of jollof rice.
Eko Hot Blog reports that in a viral video posted to her Instagram account on Monday, Baci revealed that she intends to cook 250 bags of basmati rice using a massive pot with a capacity of 22,619 litres.

Detailing the ambitious project, Baci said the pot measures six meters in width and stands 1.1 meters tall, with a depth of approximately 1.3 meters. “I’m making the executive decision to cook 250 bags of basmati rice,” she said. “I’m sure the pot is not going to sink.”

The cooking event is scheduled to take place on September 12, 2025, and is expected to feed around 10,000 people.
This new attempt comes two years after Baci gained international recognition by cooking continuously for 93 hours and 11 minutes, earning the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.
