EKO HOT BLOG reports that speaking during an interview on Channels Television on Wednesday, Jibrin noted that Kwankwaso has consistently kept his political options open, stressing that he is always willing to engage in discussions with other political actors.
“As far as that [joining APC] is concerned, he has always maintained that his doors are open, our doors are open for discussions. Everything is a possibility,” Jibrin said.
Jibrin, however, clarified that he is not privy to Kwankwaso’s exact political plans but maintained that the former NNPP presidential candidate teaming up with President Bola Tinubu and the APC remains a possibility.
Meanwhile, Kwankwaso has recently dismissed speculations about leaving the NNPP ahead of the 2027 general elections. Speaking at the party’s 9th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja, the former governor reiterated his commitment to the NNPP, emphasizing that he remains firmly rooted in the party while still open to dialogue with other stakeholders.
“Many people thought today we will announce whether I will stay in NNPP or go to another party or join some individuals. That was not the intention of the meeting. We have our party, and we are comfortable and happy,” Kwankwaso said.
He further stressed that while the NNPP is not desperate, it remains flexible in its engagemen

ts with relevant political actors as the 2027 elections draw closer.
