The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, shared details of the meeting in a statement on Wednesday titled In just two years, Nigeria is now respected globally.
Tinubu said years of mismanagement, fake records, smuggling, and corruption had denied Nigeria the revenue needed for growth. He added that his government took difficult but necessary actions to save the economy from collapse.
“With your prayers, patience, perseverance and great understanding, I am glad to tell you today that the economy is stabilised,” he said.
The President highlighted the establishment of NELFUND as part of efforts to ensure no student drops out of school due to financial hardship, stressing that education remains the most powerful weapon against poverty.
He also noted progress in infrastructure delivery, saying, “That is what we are doing. We have remained aggressive on our infrastructure. And it is just two years.”

Tinubu thanked Oba Olaoye for acknowledging his government’s bold decisions and pledged to engage the Ministers of Power, Water Resources, Agriculture, and Works to address the monarch’s requests, including agricultural self-sufficiency.
The Soun praised the President for removing fuel subsidy, introducing NELFUND, and implementing foreign exchange reforms, which he said had eased students’ access to education.
He also commended the dualisation of the Oyo-Ogbomoso Road, describing it as a major economic lifeline for the North.
Oba Olaoye urged Tinubu to support Ogbomoso in upgrading its General Hospital to a Federal Medical Centre, improving water and power supply, and establishing a research institute for mango and cashew production.
He thanked the President for appointing indigenes of Ogbomoso, including Zacch Adedeji, Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, and Debo Adedokun, Director General of the Bureau of Public Procurement.
The monarch was accompanied by five other traditional rulers: Samuel Otolorin, Areago of Ogbomosoland; Oba Oyetunji Adeyeye, Alajaawa of Ajaawa; Oba Bolarinwa Olajide, Onisapa of Isapa; Oba Babatunde Amao, Aale Oke Elerin; and Oba Prof. Akinola John Akintola, Olokin Apa of Okin Apa.
High Chiefs in attendance included Ogundare Rebecca, Iyalode of Ogbomosoland; Prof. Sola Adepoju, former Director General of the Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria; businessman Tunji Olaniyi; and Abdul Ganiyu Owodunni, Aare Musulumi of Ogbomosoland.
Also present was Sunday Dare, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, who is the Agbaakin of Ogbomosoland.
