Baale Anwoju Leads Health Walk to Promote Unity in Iraye-Oke
The people of Iraye-Oke Kingdom in Eredo area of Lagos State came together on Saturday, September 6, 2025, for a community health awareness walk led by the Baale of the town, High Chief Moshood Odusegun Anwoju.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the walk, which began at Itamarun, Epe, around 8:00 a.m., attracted indigenes, families, friends, and supporters of the kingdom.
The exercise was conducted peacefully under the supervision of the Nigeria Police Force, Odo-Noforija Division, ensuring safety and order throughout.
Addressing participants before the walk commenced, Baale Anwoju emphasized the importance of peace, unity, and wellness within the community.
“This health walk is not to fight anyone or involve in any controversy. We should all encourage a community where we will all live peacefully in unity and love. This movement is for our good health,” he said.

Baale Anwoju Reaffirmed as Authentic Leader of Iraye-Oke
Earlier today, the Executive Chairman of Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, paid a courtesy visit to the Baale of Iraye-Oke community, High Chief Moshood Odusegun Anwoju.

The General Overseer of the Redemption Gospel Miracle Centre, Epe, Rev. Abraham Adebote, has emphasized the importance of constant prayers for leaders at all levels, stating that governance is not an easy task and leaders need divine guidance to succeed.

Epe Youths Commiserate with Victims of Lekki-Epe Expressway Fatal Accident
The youths of Epe Local Government, under the umbrella of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), have expressed deep sorrow over the tragic accident that occurred yesterday along the Ibeju axis of the Lekki-Epe Expressway, involving an 18-seater passenger bus and a truck.
The ghastly crash claimed several lives and left many others injured, plunging families and the Lagos East community into mourning.
Speaking on behalf of the council, the spokesperson of NYCN Epe Local Branch, Moibi Ibrahim, commiserated with the bereaved families and prayed for the repose of the departed souls.
“We pray that Almighty God grants the departed eternal rest and comforts those left behind. We also extend our prayers to the injured and wish them a swift and complete recovery,” he said.

Epe LG Chairman Calls for Collective Action Against Domestic and Sexual Violence

Epe LG Chairman, Rotary Clubs Host Free Health Mission for Residents

Princess (Dr.) Surah Olayemi Animashaun FHTI, as the council in collaboration with Rotary Club International and Rotary Club of Ilorin District 9126, organized a Free Health Mission between Wednesday, August 27, 2025, and Saturday, August 30, 2025.
The medical outreach, which took place at Epe Primary Health Centre (PHC), Agbalajobi Street, Ijebu-Ode Expressway, and Papa PHC, Rahmon Mistura Street, Epe, provided residents with free healthcare services ranging from consultations to surgical procedures.
From Wednesday to Friday, residents accessed general consultations, screenings for diabetes, malaria, and eye conditions.
The outreach climaxed on Saturday with free general surgeries, drug distribution, eye glasses, and sanitary pads at Papa PHC.
Rotarian and High Chief Alaba Jimoh Quadry, a member of Rotary Club of Ilorin, District 9126, explained the motive behind the initiative.

6 Dead, 9 Injured in Fatal Crash on Lekki-Epe Expressway
A fatal road crash claimed six lives and left nine others injured on Monday, September 1, 2025, at Ibeju Bus Stop along the Lekki-Epe Expressway.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the accident, which occurred at about 10:22 a.m., involved a blue Volvo FL6 truck and a white Mazda commercial bus with registration number AKD 336YD.
According to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Ibeju-Lekki Unit Command, the crash was caused by speeding, route violation, and dangerous driving.
The truck was reportedly driving against traffic when it collided head-on with the passenger bus coming from CMS and heading towards Epe.
Out of the 19 passengers involved, six were confirmed dead, including two males, three females, and a male child.

Lekki LCDA Backs Campaign Against Domestic and Sexual Violence in Lagos
Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has joined other civil servants across Lagos State in marking the start of Domestic and Sexual Violence Awareness Month by wearing a touch of purple in solidarity.

The Ogunlaja Royal Family of Odo Noforija Kingdom, Epe Division of Lagos State, on Friday, laid to rest Princess Susana Ayodele Shafau Ogunlaja, sister of His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Babatunde Olaogun Ogunlaja, JP, FNBE, Kalejaiya II, the Aladeshonyin and Paramount Ruler of Odo Noforija Kingdom. She passed away on July 12, 2025, at the age of 86.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the funeral began with a solemn service at The First African Church Mission, St. David Parish, Odo Noforija, where clergy and parishioners offered prayers for the repose of her soul.
The service reflected her lifelong devotion to God, her family, and her community. Following the church service, she was interred at the royal family compound, where family members, friends, and dignitaries paid their last respects.
In his tribute, the Bobakeye of Odo Noforija Kingdom, Chief Dipeolu, urged the Ogunlaja family to sustain the good works of the late Princess.

Major Accident at Berger Bridge T-Junction, Epe
A serious accident occurred earlier today on the Berger Bridge T-Junction in Epe, when a truck lost control and rammed into multiple vehicles, leaving many people injured and causing heavy traffic congestion.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the crash involved a truck, a tricycle (keke napep), and four cars, all of which sustained significant damage. According to eyewitnesses, the truck suffered a brake failure, making the driver lose control and collide with vehicles waiting at the junction.
An eyewitness, Mr. Ademola said: “The driver kept shouting that his brake had failed.
Before we knew it, the truck had already crashed into the tricycle and several cars. People were screaming and running everywhere.”
Another commuter, Mrs. Kehinde, added: “It was a terrible sight. The tricycle was badly crushed, and several people were injured. Thank God no life was lost.”

Odo Noforija Monarch Holds Thanksgiving in Honour of Late Sister
The Aladeshonyin and Paramount Ruler of Odo Noforija Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Babatunde Olaogun Ogunlaja, JP, FNBE, Kalejaiya II, on Sunday, held a special thanksgiving service in honor of his late sister, Princess Susana Ayodele Shafau-Ogunlaja, whose burial rites were concluded on Friday.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the thanksgiving, held at The First African Church Mission, St. David Parish, Odo Noforija, was graced by members of the Ogunlaja Royal Family, traditional chiefs, clergy, community leaders, and monarchs from across Yoruba-speaking states, who came to honor the Aladeshonyin and celebrate the life of the late Princess.
Speaking during the thanksgiving, Kabiyesi expressed gratitude to God for granting his late sister a fulfilled life of 86 years and for the peaceful success of her burial ceremonies.
“We return all glory to God for the grace given to my sister to live a long, impactful, and godly life. Her burial was a testimony of love and unity, and I am thankful to everyone who stood with the family,” he said.
He further described Princess Susana as a virtuous woman whose humility and devotion to faith and family remain exemplary.
