Seventeen countries have now officially secured their places at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
According to Eko Hot Blog, the global football biggest event set to be co-hosted for the first time by three nations the United States, Mexico, and Canada who all qualify automatically as hosts.

From Asia, Japan became the first team to punch their ticket, closely followed by Iran, Jordan, South Korea, Uzbekistan, and Australia, all of whom confirmed qualification through impressive displays in the group stages.
New Zealand will fly Oceania’s flag after a convincing victory over New Caledonia in March 2025, earning the region’s only guaranteed slot.
In South America, traditional powerhouses Argentina and Uruguay secured their spots in early September 2025, joining Brazil and Ecuador, who qualified in June. Paraguay and Colombia also booked their places, completing a strong CONMEBOL presence.

Morocco became the first African nation to secure a place in the tournament, making history once again after their memorable run in Qatar 2022.
The North African side sealed qualification ahead of schedule in the CAF rounds.
With the tournament expanding to 48 teams, 31 more nations are still in the hunt for a place in the final draw, as qualifying matches continue around the world.
