Report revealed that a joint operation led by the Eagle Force and Goa Police led to the arrests and exposed a sophisticated “hawala-based money laundering network.”
During the operation, police seized drugs worth over Rs 4.5 crore and uncovered a network that smuggled drugs like cocaine and ecstasy into Mumbai and Pune using courier services. The drugs then moved to other cities, including Goa and Hyderabad, through local carriers.
Investigators have so far traced over 150 bank transactions linked to Nigerian accounts and seized Rs 2.85 crore in cash during raids.

Officials revealed that the cartel laundered money by converting it into goods such as garments and groceries, which they then shipped in containers to Nigeria.
The criminal ring not only supplied drugs within India but also sent proceeds back to Nigeria to support its operations in Europe and Latin America. The arrests add to the growing list of Nigerians arrested worldwide for drug and cybercrime offenses.
The incident further highlights the broader issue of criminal activities by some Nigerian nationals abroad, which has led to hostilities in countries like Ghana and South Africa.
