In a move to promote quality education and reduce the financial burden on parents, the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area, Otunba-Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, has flagged off the Back to School initiative with the distribution of free exercise books to pupils in public primary schools across the council.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the distribution, which took place earlier today, was overseen by the Vice Chairman, Alhaji Wasiu Dehinsilu, who represented the Chairman.
He was joined by the Chief of Staff, Hon. Jayesimi Ibraheem, and the Council Leader, Hon. Hassan Mustapha Owolabi, alongside other key officials.
The benefiting schools included Baptist Day Primary School, Agbowa; Methodist Primary School, Agbowa; St. John Primary School, Sala; and RCM Primary School, Ejinrin. Pupils received the books with excitement, while teachers expressed gratitude for what they described as a timely intervention.
Speaking at the event, the Vice Chairman said, “This gesture is part of our administration’s deliberate effort to encourage learning, lift the morale of our pupils, and support parents in meeting educational needs.”

Teachers and heads of schools also commended the initiative, noting its importance in easing the challenges faced by many families. One school head remarked,
“This is a demonstration of responsible and caring leadership. We assure the council that the pupils will make good use of these materials.”
Other council officials present at the event included the Deputy Leader, Hon. Ganiyu Selim Oluwaseun; Majority Leader, Hon. Oluwo Martins Oriyomi; Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. Olumide Ajayi; and Hon. Disu Opeyemi Adebajo.
The initiative forms part of a series of educational interventions by the Anomo administration, highlighting its determination to invest in children as future leaders of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA.
