He said his tolerance was high; he’d often be the last among friends to get drunk.
The rapper said he drank “everything else” vodka, whisky, cognac, tequila, rum but was especially worried about being affected by what South Africans call a “phuza face” when alcohol causes someone to age prematurely, making them look ten years older than their actual age.
Nasty C explained that he noticed the physical toll wrinkles, skin damage, maybe sagging or tiredness that came with drinking regularly. He felt it was a “bad thing because you never know when something is going wrong until it’s too late.” He wanted to stay looking closer to his real age, to avoid regrets later.
His quitting isn’t just about looks, he said. It’s about health and awareness. Daily intoxication, he added, doesn’t give you space to see warning signs of illness, mental strain, or even just exhaustion.
He believes quitting alcohol can help avoid those problems.
Some fans have praised his honesty: many see it as brave for a public figure to admit addiction and take active steps. Others are curious how this will influence his lifestyle, music, and presence in social settings where drinking is common.
This move by Nasty C adds to a broader conversation in music and youth culture about cutting back, moderation, and mental-health awareness.
It also highlights the idea that sometimes, personal choices like quitting alcohol can be part of preserving both health and image.
