According to Haruna, operatives arrested the suspects: Mathew Adewole, 25, of Na’ibawa Quarters, Kano, and Mukhtar Muhammad, 31, of Unguwa Uku Quarters, Kano on September 11, 2025.
During interrogation, Adewole confessed to attacking one Lil-Kesh, a resident of Bera Estate, Chevron, Lagos, on August 19, 2025. The assault left the victim with severe injuries, including a deep neck wound. Adewole allegedly forced the victim to transfer ₦2.12 million via mobile banking into Muhammad’s account.

Haruna said the suspects have been transferred to the Lagos State Police Command for further investigation and prosecution, in line with directives from Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
Kano State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Bakori, praised the operatives for their diligence and the public for their cooperation. He assured residents that the command would continue to strengthen intelligence-driven policing and community partnerships to combat crime.
The development comes weeks after the Kano Police Command arrested three other armed robbery suspects connected to a case in Abuja, recovering a stolen vehicle in the process.
