The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested five suspects over alleged criminal conspiracy, abetment, and possession of motorcycles reportedly meant to aid banditry in the state.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the arrests, which the police described as a “major breakthrough” in the fight against violent crime, were carried out on September 19, 2025, by a joint patrol of officers and vigilantes led by the Divisional Police Officer of Kamba Division, Bello Lawal.

According to a statement on Monday by the command’s spokesperson, Nafiu Abubakar, the suspects Saifullahi Suleiman, 37, Halidu Adamu, 26, Ibrahim Abubakar, 37, and Sani Kabiru, 22, all residents of Kamba in Dandi Local Government Area were found with three Honda motorcycles, commonly referred to as “Boko Haram motorcycles.”
Abubakar disclosed that the motorcycles, valued at N5.4 million, were allegedly purchased in Benin Republic and were being transported for delivery to the Lakurawa terrorist group through an accomplice based in Kangiwa town, Arewa LGA.
He added that during the investigation, a fifth suspect, Mubarak Ladan, 28, from Kamba, attempted to bribe the DPO with N600,000 to secure the release of the suspects.

He was immediately arrested, and the money recovered as evidence.
Commissioner of Police Bello Sani has ordered the State Criminal Investigation Department in Birnin Kebbi to intensify efforts to track other accomplices connected to the case.
The CP commended the Kamba DPO and vigilante members for their professionalism and urged divisional heads across Kebbi to emulate their dedication.
He reiterated the command’s resolve to dismantle criminal networks along border communities and called on residents to provide credible information to support security efforts.
