- Public to rely on established official channels for accurate information
- Where Kwankwaso allegedly claimed President Bola Tinubu did not know how to govern
- We have not made any such submission to any party
Former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has publicly denied recent reports suggesting he is planning to leave the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) to rejoin the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Eko Hot Blog reports that in a statement posted on his official X account on Friday, Kwankwaso addressed what he called “online statements” about his political future.
“We have been alerted to some online statements suggesting that we have submitted a letter of intent to join a political party in the country,” Kwankwaso wrote. “We would like to clarify that we have not made any such submission to any party.”

He further advised the public to rely on established official channels for accurate information regarding his political movements.
The denial comes amid a viral video clip showing the former National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, reacting to the purported move. In the video, Ganduje expressed surprise at the rumour, referencing past criticisms Kwankwaso had made against the APC.
“I am surprised to hear that Kwankwaso will return to the APC after he had described the party as mad,” Ganduje said in the video. “They have now vomited and licked it.” He also recalled a past instance where Kwankwaso allegedly claimed President Bola Tinubu did not know how to govern and only built Lagos with Nigeria’s money.
