EKO HOT BLOG reports that in a statement shared via his official X handle, Governor Abiodun highlighted key areas of discussion, including the much-anticipated Olokola Deep Sea Port project, mineral exploration, and cultural exchange programs.
According to him, the Olokola Deep Sea Port remains a cornerstone of his administration’s vision to transform Ogun into a leading industrial and maritime hub in Nigeria and West Africa.
He noted that collaboration with Chinese partners, who possess advanced expertise in port development, will help accelerate the realization of this project.
The governor further revealed that conversations also centered on mineral exploration and development, stressing the importance of attracting credible investors and technical experts to harness the state’s abundant natural resources for economic growth and job creation.
Beyond economic ventures, Governor Abiodun underscored the importance of cultural and social exchange in sustaining long-term partnerships.
He explained that people-to-people connections were crucial to deepening trust and mutual understanding between Ogun State and Rizhao.
“This engagement with Rizhao is yet another demonstration of our drive to forge global alliances that deliver tangible results, promote industrialization, and enrich the experiences of our people,” Abiodun said.
He added that the partnership reflects Ogun’s growing reputation as a strategic destination for international investment and cultural collaboration.

The meeting, observers say, is part of a broader effort by the state government to attract global investment while also positioning Ogun as a key player in Nigeria’s export-driven growth agenda.
