EKO HOT BLOG reports that Wike declared his backing for Christopher Maikalangu, chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), who recently defected from the PDP to the APC and is seeking re-election.
Speaking at the flag-off of a 7-kilometre road project with four-span bridges linking Tunga Madaki to eight communities, Wike said the project was a fulfillment of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and a response to community demands during land compensation for the second airport runway.
The minister noted that the project, handled by CCECC, will be completed in June 2026, coinciding with Tinubu’s third year in office. He urged residents to “reward the APC at the polls,” crediting Maikalangu as the driving force behind the project.
Wike emphasized that the new road will not only connect the community to the airport but also unlock development in nine previously neglected settlements, describing the initiative as a symbol of responsive governance.
