She said detectives, while on surveillance around 10:00 a.m. on Friday, sighted four suspected robbers. Three fled the scene, but a 21-year-old was apprehended.
A search of his bag uncovered a cut-to-size single-barrel gun, an English Barreter pistol with two live rounds, and another pistol with cartridges. The suspect confessed that the gang had just carried out a robbery in Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, and planned to regroup at a hotel in Mushin.
Acting on intelligence, operatives raided the hotel, recovering a laptop, charms, suspected Indian hemp, hard drugs, and other incriminating items.
Another suspect, aged 33, was arrested at the scene with a locally fabricated pistol. The hideout has since been permanently sealed.

The suspects and exhibits have been transferred to the command headquarters, while efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing gang members.
Commissioner of Police, Mr. Olohundare Jimoh, commended the operatives for their professionalism and warned hoteliers against negligence.
“Hoteliers must keep proper customer records. Negligence could expose their facilities to criminal exploitation,” the CP said.
He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property, urging residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities.
