According to her, the supplies are specifically targeted at preventing common causes of death during childbirth and early childhood.

These include drugs like Oxytocin and Misoprostol, which help control excessive bleeding after delivery, one of the leading causes of maternal deaths.
She explained that Misoprostol is particularly important because it can be used even in areas without refrigeration, ensuring that no woman loses her life due to lack of proper storage facilities.
Other items distributed include Chlorhexidine, Zinc, Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS), and basic medical consumables such as gloves, syringes, and delivery kits to support safe and hygienic childbirth.
Dr. Adeleke urged healthcare workers to make these supplies readily available to patients at no cost and avoid unnecessary delays, stressing that timely access can make the difference between life and death.

She also reassured residents that Primary Healthcare Centres across the district are now well-equipped and encouraged pregnant women and families to seek professional care instead of relying on home treatments.
Responding on behalf of the facilities, Pharm. Temitope Adeyemi from Epe Primary Healthcare Centre thanked the government and assured that the supplies would be properly managed to improve service delivery.
