The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly and Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, has called for faith-based leadership as a driving force for national transformation.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the made the call while speaking at the Young Professionals Forum (YPF) Mega Summit 2025 organised by the Deeper Christian Life Ministry in Ibadan.
The summit, themed “Leadership and Influence: How Christian Professionals Can Shape Public Policy – My Journey as a Christian Legislator,” attracted hundreds of young professionals, religious leaders, and policymakers from across Nigeria.
In his keynote address, Ogundoyin reflected on his journey from a Christian upbringing to becoming Nigeria’s youngest Speaker in 2019. He said his faith continues to guide his leadership, noting that “leadership is not about domination but about lifting others.”
Quoting Mark 10:43–45, he stressed that true leadership, as exemplified by Christ, is rooted in humility and service.
He urged Christian professionals to be agents of change by promoting justice, compassion, and integrity in public service. Citing Proverbs 22:1, he stated, “Credibility, not just charisma, earns influence in public life.”
Ogundoyin also praised Pastor William Kumuyi and Pastor Ayo Afolabi for founding the YPF, describing it as a vital platform for mentoring and empowering young Nigerians.
He concluded by calling for a generational shift in leadership, saying Nigeria’s transformation depends on value-driven young leaders who fear God and uphold justice.
