A 30-year-old woman, identified as Adams Hannafi, has reportedly taken her own life by hanging herself from a tree in Sumore village, Dutse Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
Eko Hot Blog reports that residents said the incident occurred on Tuesday at about 3:00 p.m. The deceased, a housewife and mother of four, was said to have been battling mental health issues before the tragic incident.

According to an eyewitnes, passers-by discovered the body and quickly alerted the security authorities.
Confirming the development, the spokesperson of the Jigawa State Police Command, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, said a team of officers from the Yalwawa Division was dispatched to the scene immediately after receiving the report.
“On arrival, the team found the lifeless body of the woman hanging from a tree. The body was carefully lowered and examined, and no foul play was suspected,” he stated.

He added that the body was conveyed to Dutse General Hospital, where it was confirmed dead by a medical doctor.
SP Shiisu further revealed that preliminary investigations indicated the deceased had been struggling with mental illness prior to her death.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Dahiru Muhammad, expressed sadness over the incident and urged members of the public to show compassion and attention to relatives or neighbours showing signs of mental distress.
He also advised families to seek early medical and psychological help to prevent similar tragedies.
The deceased left behind her husband and four children.
