Renowned broadcaster, diplomat, and corporate leader, Dr. Christopher Kolade, has passed away at the age of 93. He reportedly died peacefully on Thursday, Eko Hot Blog reports.
Born in 1932 in Erin-Oke, Osun State, Kolade was the son of an Anglican missionary. He attended Government College, Ibadan, before proceeding to Fourah Bay College, Freetown, Sierra Leone, where he earned his degree.

Dr. Kolade began his professional career in broadcasting and rose through the ranks to become the Director-General of the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC). His remarkable communication skills and leadership later propelled him into the corporate world, where he served as Chief Executive and Chairman of Cadbury Nigeria Plc.
A man of many distinctions, Kolade also represented Nigeria as High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and had earlier served as an Education Officer during the colonial era.
He was deeply committed to academia, particularly at the Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos, where he taught Corporate Governance and Human Resources Management at the Lagos Business School (LBS), as well as Leadership and Conflict Management at the School of Media and Communication.
Kolade was a former member of the university’s Governing Council, later becoming its Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, and also served as Chancellor of McPherson University, Ogun State.
An unwavering advocate for ethical business practices, Dr. Kolade chaired the Integrity Organisation Limited GTE and The Convention on Business Integrity Limited GTE, through which he championed transparency and good governance in Nigeria’s corporate sector.

Over the decades, Dr. Kolade’s contributions to broadcasting, education, and business leadership earned him widespread respect and admiration, making him one of Nigeria’s most distinguished figures in both the public and private sectors.
