The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned the ongoing #FreeNnamdiKanu protests, describing them as politically orchestrated agitations aimed at causing unrest.
Eko Hot Blog reports that in a statement on Monday, the party’s spokesperson, Mogaji Seye Oladejo, said the protests were a “dangerous display of reckless politics”, allegedly sponsored by opposition figures seeking to exploit national issues for political gain.

“This so-called protest is not about justice; it is about political frustration,” Oladejo said. “It represents the height of bitter, destructive politics, an attempt by those who have been rejected at the polls to exploit national issues for cheap relevance.”
Oladejo accused unnamed opposition leaders of “deceitful manipulation hiding behind the façade of activism”, likening the situation to the Biblical phrase, “the hand of Jacob but the voice of Esau.”
He criticised the organisers for their “insensitivity”, noting that the South East was still grappling with the effects of insecurity, violence, and enforced sit-at-home orders that had devastated lives and livelihoods.

“These individuals have chosen to mock the memories of the victims. Their protest is not a demand for justice; it is a betrayal of the sacrifices of the innocent,” he added.
The APC spokesperson maintained that the case of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), remained a judicial matter before competent courts, and urged Nigerians to allow the judiciary to discharge its duties without intimidation.
Oladejo also reaffirmed the commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to rebuilding the economy, strengthening unity, and promoting inclusion through the Renewed Hope Agenda.
He called on security agencies to remain alert and urged leaders in the South East to resist any attempt to destabilise the nation.
“Nigeria belongs to all of us, and we must not allow political desperation to tear it apart. There must indeed be a limit to bitter politics,” he concluded.
