Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, on Wednesday met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the State House, Abuja, days after officially defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Eko Hot Blog reports that in a post on his verified X handle, Mbah said discussions with the President centred on strengthening collaboration between Enugu State and the Federal Government to accelerate development and prosperity.

“Today, I had the honour of meeting with His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, at the State House, Abuja.
We discussed ways to strengthen collaboration between Enugu State and the Federal Government to deliver greater prosperity for our people,” Mbah wrote.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to contributing to a stronger, united, and more prosperous Nigeria.
Mbah had earlier announced his defection to the APC on October 14, during a press conference in Enugu, saying the decision was motivated by his desire to align the state’s development agenda with the Federal Government’s policies.
He described the move as “a strategic partnership for transformative change” aimed at advancing the interests of Enugu people.
The governor was accompanied by his predecessor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, along with several state and federal lawmakers, during his visit to the President.
