In a heartwarming show of commitment to educational growth, the 2001 Set of Odo-Obara High School Old Students’ Association, Epe, Lagos State, on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, returned to their alma mater to distribute exercise books to newly admitted students.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the initiative, aimed at encouraging academic excellence and supporting young learners, followed an earlier outreach where the association provided similar materials to students in J.S.S 2 and J.S.S 3.
True to their promise, the group came back to extend the gesture to the new J.S.S 1 students after the completion of the admission process.
Representing the association, Mr. Agbaraojo Tasir Adekunle, who was later joined by the President of the Association, expressed pride in the continuous contributions of the old students to the school’s development.

“ We had previously distributed exercise books to students of J.S.S 2 and 3, but because the admission process for J.S.S 1 was still ongoing, we promised to return once they resumed.
Today, we are here to fulfill that promise,” Mr. Agbaraojo stated.
He added, “ As proud products of this great institution, we remain committed to giving back to the school that shaped us.
Our members have contributed in various ways, including painting the school entrance, donating whiteboards, and organizing our annual get-together focused on development.”
Encouraging the students to take their academics seriously, he advised them to remain disciplined and focused in their pursuit of success.
“ I want to urge all our students to give maximum attention to their education so they too can make us proud and contribute to the future of this school,” he concluded.
The Principal of Odo-Obara Junior High School, Alhaja M.A. Owolabi, commended the 2001 Set for their consistency and passion for supporting the school’s growth.
She applauded their dedication to improving students’ learning experience and pledged the school management’s continued commitment to quality education.
“ We are deeply grateful to our old students for their constant support. Their contributions are helping us build a stronger academic foundation for our learners,” she said.
The event underscored the importance of alumni involvement in school development and highlighted the power of unity in nurturing the next generation of achievers.
