The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 71-year-old man, Jeriel Clifford Peter, for allegedly killing his 67-year-old wife, Miltha Jeriel, during a domestic dispute in Demsa Local Government Area of the state, Eko Hot Blog reports
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Sulaiman Nguroje, the tragic incident occurred on Thursday, November 6, 2025, after a misunderstanding between the couple at a bar escalated into violence.

Nguroje explained that the suspect reportedly attacked his wife with a knife and an axe, inflicting multiple injuries.
“Upon receiving a distress call, police operatives led by the Divisional Police Officer of Demsa Division swiftly arrived at the scene. The victim was rushed to the hospital but was confirmed dead while receiving treatment,” the statement read.
Her body has since been deposited at the hospital mortuary for autopsy, while the weapons used in the attack were recovered as exhibits.
Condemning the incident, the Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, described the act as “inhuman” and directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Yola, to take over the case for thorough investigation and prosecution.
