EKO HOT BLOG reports that speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Tuesday, Fayose said the PDP’s internal crisis had worsened beyond repair, adding that most of the party’s key figures had deserted it.
“I said to you about a year ago that the PDP is in trouble, and if we don’t have a solution on time, the party will be dead. The party is dead now,” he stated.
Fayose lamented that those who could have revived the PDP had left, leaving the party in a state of disarray.
“I have said it repeatedly on this programme, and I’ve told Nigerians the challenges faced by a party whose big heads have jumped out of the water. Who is going to save Jerusalem when the people meant to save Jerusalem have already fled?” he added.
His comment followed a Federal High Court ruling in Abuja that restrained the PDP from proceeding with its national convention scheduled for November 15 and 16 in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The order was issued in a suit filed by former Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, who challenged his exclusion from contesting for the position of National Chairman despite paying for the nomination form.
The court also directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) not to participate in any activity relating to the planned convention in Ibadan or anywhere in Nigeria until the substantive case is determined.

The latest development has deepened the internal divisions within the PDP, raising fresh concerns over the party’s future ahead of the next general elections.
