The development was contained in a letter jointly signed by the faction’s Acting National Chairman, Abdulrahman Mohammed, and National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, and addressed to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Joash Amupitan.
According to the letter, the party expressed regret over the delay and assured that a new date for the primary election would be communicated in due course.

The statement read in part: “We wish to inform you that the PDP Ekiti State Congress and Governorship Primary earlier scheduled for November 8th, 2025, has been postponed due to logistical constraints. A new date will be announced once arrangements are finalized.”
The letter also reaffirmed the faction’s earlier correspondence with INEC regarding the planned exercise.
Reports indicate that this faction of the PDP, led by Mohammed and Anyanwu, maintains allegiance to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
