Pressure mounted in Abuja on Monday as a group of aggrieved guardians stormed the Federal Ministry of Finance, blocking its main gate while demanding the immediate release of overdue stipends for their children studying overseas under government sponsorship.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the demonstrators, carrying placards and chanting grievances, said their wards enrolled in various Bilateral Education Agreement programmes and other federal scholarship schemes have been left stranded for months without the funds meant for their upkeep.
