The announcement coincided with the official release of the final list of 3,852 successful candidates for the 2024/2025 recruitment intake across the Superintendent, Inspectorate, and Customs Assistant cadres.
Adeniyi explained that the newly established screening frameworks and verification architecture built during the preceding cycle would now allow future exercises to be conducted efficiently within a single calendar year.

He stated that moving to a yearly schedule will eliminate prolonged waiting periods for young Nigerian applicants while enabling the agency to manage personnel exits and retirements proactively.
The Customs chief confirmed that the 2026 recruitment exercise is scheduled to open later this year, promising that the process, from application to final selection, will be concluded within the same calendar year to maintain operational continuity and transparency.
