The Executive Chairman of Lekki Local Council Development Area, Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali (MNSE, MNATE), has approved the continuation of the council’s monthly fumigation exercise, extending this month’s operation to all public schools across the LCDA.

“Our goal is to ensure cleaner classrooms and safer playgrounds for all learners,” the statement noted.
For several months, the routine fumigation has been carried out across Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) and major public facilities, but the council emphasized that schools have now become a priority.
“We are expanding this operation to schools because prevention is always better than cure, especially when it concerns our children,” officials explained.
The Environmental Services Department confirmed that the exercise will be executed in phases to guarantee full coverage.
“We will carry out the operation in stages to ensure no school is left out,” the department stated. “Strict monitoring has been put in place to ensure safety before, during, and after the fumigation.”
The council also highlighted that the initiative forms part of its long-term environmental health strategy aimed at reducing pests, mosquitoes, and other disease-causing agents within the community.
“This administration remains committed to healthier public spaces and improved community well-being,” the Chairman affirmed.
