He was arrested after being trailed by residents while making further preparations for the event and was subsequently taken into custody.
Aminu made his confession before the Adamawa State Jail Delivery Committee during its review visit to the Mubi Correctional Centre, where he had been remanded.
The Area Court I in Bazza had earlier found him guilty and sentenced him to three months’ imprisonment, with an option of a ₦40,000 fine. He was taken to the correctional centre last month after failing to pay the fine.

Upon reviewing the case, the Jail Delivery Committee, chaired by the state Chief Judge, Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman, reduced the sentence from three months in custody to three months of community service.
The committee directed that Aminu be returned to Bazza to sweep a public facility, such as a health centre or police station, for the duration of the community service.
