EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Super Eagles forward recently confirmed that he submitted a transfer request, accusing the club of blocking his exit despite a gentleman’s agreement to allow him leave this summer. Atalanta insists their promise was to sanction a move only if a top club outside Italy made a bid, rejecting a €42 million plus €3 million add-ons offer from Inter Milan.
Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano disclosed via 𝕏 that Lookman’s absence was a protest against Atalanta’s decision. “Ademola Lookman didn’t show up for training today as he keeps insisting on the plan to leave Atalanta. Atalanta maintains their position; no way to let him go for €42 million plus €3 million, a proposal rejected last week. No fresh bid from Inter so far,” Romano wrote.
Lookman, who played a pivotal role in Atalanta’s successful 2024/25 season, including a hat-trick in the UEFA Europa League final, is reportedly frustrated by the club’s reluctance to sell him to another Serie A side. The stance limits his options, with no concrete offers yet emerging from foreign clubs.
Atalanta, however, are determined to keep their star forward unless a valuation closer to their demands is met. Inter Milan remain interested but are yet to return with an improved proposal.

The standoff raises doubts about Lookman’s immediate future in Bergamo as both sides remain firm in their positions.
