EDCAA 2025 lit up Epe on Thursday, 11th December, as the 6th Edition of the Epe Division Community Annual Awards brought together outstanding individuals from across Nigeria and beyond.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Lagos Theatre, Epe, was transformed into a dazzling arena of glamour, culture, and celebration, recognising men and women whose exceptional contributions have shaped the growth and development of Epe Division.

The event, organised by the Concerned Nation Builders Initiative (CNI), has grown into more than an award ceremony,
it is a platform that honours dedication, leadership, and community service. Distinguished guests were treated to an evening filled with inspiration, recognition, and a reaffirmation of the values that continue to strengthen Epe Division.
In his address, the Director General of CNI, Mr. Idris Tele-Olukoya, reflected on the mission of the organisation, saying, “The Concerned Nation Builders Initiative was founded on a noble calling: to serve humanity, uplift communities, and restore dignity to the vulnerable.”
He emphasised that EDCAA celebrates individuals whose sacrifices and efforts inspire hope, unity, and progress. “EDCAA is far more than an annual celebration.
It is a ceremonial tribute to dedication, service, and excellence,” he added, while appreciating sponsors, partners, volunteers, and executive members for making the event possible.
The keynote address by Prof. Adegbenga A. Onabamiro, Director of the Centre for Human Rights & Gender Education at Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, focused on “Forging a Sustainable Future for Epe Division: Unity, Innovation, and Shared Prosperity as Pillars of Growth.”
He stressed that unity is the foundation for sustainable development, noting, “Unity is the decision to look beyond ‘you’ and ‘me’ and to see us: a shared identity, a collective future.”
Prof. Onabamiro further highlighted the importance of innovation in agriculture, business, and governance, as well as the need for shared prosperity, education, women empowerment, and inclusive governance.
He concluded with a powerful message: “If we stand together,united in purpose, innovative in spirit, and generous in sharing,the story of Epe Division can be rewritten.”
Awardees expressed gratitude for the recognition. Mrs. Kunle-Lawal Hajarat Oluwatoyin, Deputy Registrar and Admission Officer at LASUED, said, “Much appreciation goes to the Almighty God for His mercy on us all.
It is indeed a great honour to me to be awarded this afternoon.” Otunba Segun Osifeko, CEO of Procare Hotels and Suites, praised EDCAA for giving the public an opportunity to recognise achievers, while cultural ambassador Arabirin Adeola Muhammad said, “Receiving this recognition means a lot to me.
It shows that we can celebrate people who have worked hard to achieve success in their areas of life.”
Representing BIA Foundations, Dr. Adekunle Aderemi Samuel stressed the need to support such events to preserve traditions and culture, while High Chief Muhyideen Shobaloju, Sarumi of Epe Kingdom, conveyed the goodwill of the Oloja-Elect of Lagos and prayed for the continued success of the annual ceremony.
The 6th edition of EDCAA not only celebrated excellence but also reinforced the spirit of unity, leadership, and shared purpose across Epe Division, leaving an enduring message that the community continues to rise through collaboration, innovation, and commitment to collective progress.
