The traditional ruler described Marwa as a dedicated leader whose initiatives continue to impact the nation positively.
Speaking during a courtesy visit to the NDLEA headquarters in Abuja, the Alaafin pledged full collaboration with the agency in combating drug abuse. He noted that traditional rulers, being closest to communities, are uniquely positioned to support awareness campaigns and preventive measures.
Marwa, in turn, urged rulers across Nigeria to leverage their influence in curbing drug use and stressed the importance of community intelligence to apprehend traffickers.

Marwa also cited the 2018 national survey showing that nearly 15 million Nigerians aged 15–64 use drugs and emphasized that controlling substance abuse is key to reducing criminality, including kidnapping, terrorism, and insurgency.
He appealed for cooperation with religious leaders to strengthen advocacy and ensure the safety and future of Nigeria’s youth.
