Pupils of Ilara Model Primary School were warmly received at Augustine University, Ilara-Epe, on Monday, 15th December 2025, during an educational excursion aimed at enriching their learning experience beyond the four walls of the classroom.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the excursion provided the pupils with firsthand exposure to a tertiary institution, allowing them to explore the university environment, interact with staff, and gain early inspiration toward higher education in a serene and structured academic setting.

“This visit is part of our efforts to broaden the pupils’ horizon and expose them early to the possibilities that lie ahead in their academic journey,” one of the accompanying teachers said.
The Vice-Chancellor of Augustine University, Prof. Akinwale, while welcoming the pupils, encouraged them to embrace learning with curiosity and discipline, describing education as the foundation for personal growth and national development.
“Our doors are always open to young learners. Early exposure to a university environment helps shape ambition, confidence, and a love for knowledge,” Prof. Akinwale stated.
During the excursion, the pupils were taken on a guided tour of several strategic facilities within the university, giving them practical insight into science, health, media, engineering, and language studies.
“The excitement on their faces shows how impactful experiential learning can be at this stage,” a university official noted.
The pupils visited the Science Laboratories, Child and Maternal Health Laboratory, Anatomy Laboratory, Chapel of Mary Mother of the Church, AUI Radio Studio, Photo Studio, Television Studio, Lady Doja Otedola Faculty of Engineering, AUI Water Factory, St. Bernadette’s Health Center, and the Language Laboratory.
The excursion was widely described as educative, inspiring, and memorable, reinforcing the importance of early academic exposure in shaping future aspirations.
