At the unveiling, Director-General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, Lekan Fatodu, lauded TECNO for its corporate social responsibility, highlighting the importance of proper infrastructure in developing talent for national and international competitions. “We appreciate TECNO’s efforts in creating these facilities and remain committed to maintaining them alongside the community,” he said.
Fatodu also commended Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for supporting the construction of eight mini stadia across Lagos, noting that such facilities provide local youths with access to competitive sports opportunities.
Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mobolaji Ogunlende, described the initiative as a practical way to engage young people in meaningful activities. “We want to take our youth off the streets, and this project demonstrates how government and private sector collaboration can provide opportunities for competition and personal growth,” he said.

TECNO’s Marketing Manager, Olumide Yomi-Omolayo, emphasized the company’s commitment to the future of African football. “We are not only supporting current footballers but also nurturing the next generation. This stadium is part of that vision,” he explained, thanking the Lagos State Sports Commission for partnering on the project.
The Sanwo-Olu Mini Stadium stands as a landmark example of public-private collaboration aimed at fostering youth development, promoting sports, and creating pathways for talent across Lagos State.
