The Lagos State Command and Control Centre (LSCCC) has recorded a total of 11,127 emergency incidents across the state between January and November, while receiving over 15 million calls through its toll-free emergency lines.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the General Manager of the Centre, Mr Femi Giwa, disclosed this on Tuesday during a press briefing at the LSCCC office in Ikeja, where he reviewed the agency’s activities for the outgoing year.

Giwa explained that the LSCCC is the central coordinating agency for emergency and disaster response in Lagos State, responsible for the deployment, monitoring and demobilisation of emergency resources to ensure effective incident management.
According to him, the Centre functions as the hub for real-time monitoring, communication and dispatch of emergency services across the state.

He revealed that medical-related cases accounted for the highest number of emergencies recorded during the period, with 2,192 incidents. Road accidents, including broken-down vehicles and fallen containers, followed closely with 2,188 cases.
Fire-related emergencies, comprising fire outbreaks and vehicle fires, were recorded 1,922 times, while civil disturbances, including fights and riots, accounted for 732 incidents. Robbery cases stood at 410, while incidents involving PHCN poles, electrical sparks and pipeline vandalism were recorded 334 times.
The Centre also recorded 57 cases of building collapse, 323 violent incidents against persons, and 40 domestic violence cases within the review period.
A breakdown of incidents by local government areas showed Alimosho LGA recording the highest number of emergencies with 1,507 cases, followed by Eti Osa LGA with 1,283 incidents and Ikeja LGA with 1,169 cases.
Other areas include Oshodi-Isolo with 908 incidents, Kosofe with 874, Ikorodu with 711, Surulere with 519, and Lagos Island with 495 cases. Amuwo-Odofin recorded 482 incidents, Lagos Mainland 457, Ibeju-Lekki 447, Agege 379, Mushin 341, Ojo 289, Shomolu 274, Ifako-Ijaiye 269, Badagry 237, Apapa 189, and Epe 159, while Ajeromi-Ifelodun LGA recorded the lowest number with 146 incidents.
As the year draws to a close, Giwa urged Lagos residents to remain safety conscious during the festive season and advised them to promptly report emergencies or suspicious activities via the toll-free emergency numbers 767 or 112.
