The development was conveyed through a formal resignation letter dated January 1, 2026, which was addressed to the PDP Chairman of Amanator Ward, Isuachara, in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

In the letter, Odii explained that his decision was reached after deep reflection and wide consultations with his family members and trusted allies. He noted that the choice to leave the party was deliberate and carefully considered.
“I write to officially inform you that, following extensive consultation with my family and close associates, I have arrived at a firm decision to resign my membership of the Peoples Democratic Party with immediate effect,” the letter stated.
The former governorship candidate expressed gratitude to the party leadership and members for the opportunity granted him to contest the 2023 election on the PDP platform. He acknowledged that the chance to represent the party at such a level was one he did not take for granted.
Odii further appreciated party stakeholders and supporters across the state, noting that he enjoyed encouragement, cooperation and goodwill throughout his political journey within the PDP.

“I remain thankful for the support, cooperation, and goodwill extended to me during my time and engagement with the party,” he added.
He concluded the letter by formally notifying the party of his decision to disengage and thanked the leadership for their understanding, urging them to accept the correspondence as his official notice of resignation.
