EKO HOT BLOG reports that Wike made the remarks on Sunday during his thank you visit to Obio Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The former Rivers State governor said political relevance is determined by strength and numbers, arguing that power is the reason leaders are able to exert authority both locally and internationally.
“Power is not dashed, you struggle for it. If Donald Trump does not have power, he would not go to Venezuela to pick up the President,” Wike said.
He questioned the legitimacy of political opposition with limited electoral strength, insisting that dominance at the polls determines control.
“Can a local government area that produced 5,000 votes challenge a local government that produces 40 percent of the votes? We will use our strength to punish people,” he added.
Meanwhile, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party and the ObiDient Movement, Dickson Iroegbu, has blamed the renewed impeachment moves against Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, on what he described as political overreach encouraged by the ruling All Progressives Congress.
Speaking during an interview on Arise News on Friday, Iroegbu said the recall of the Rivers State House of Assembly from recess to commence impeachment proceedings was deliberate.
“Of course, Charles, the sudden coming back of the State Assembly from their recess, the only mission they had was clear to come for that impeachment notice,” he said.
Iroegbu argued that the posture and language of the Assembly leadership suggested external influence, pointing fingers at Wike.

According to him, the development raises serious concerns about democratic stability in Rivers State, warning that the politicisation of impeachment processes could weaken democratic institutions if left unchecked.
