The Atiku Haske Organisation has rejected a recent directive by Abba Atiku Abubakar, son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, instructing members to join the All Progressives Congress (APC), insisting that he has no authority over the group’s political decisions.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the organisation also announced the immediate expulsion of Abba, claiming he never contributed financially to its operations and is not a founding member.

Abba had on Thursday, following his defection to the APC, directed coordinators and members of his political network to switch allegiance to the ruling party and mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. He also proposed renaming the group to the Haske Bola Tinubu Organisation.

Responding in a statement from Abuja on Sunday, the initiator and convener of the Atiku Haske Organisation, Mai Nagge Bakari, said Abba was invited to join the group but has no founding role, no registration documents, and has not funded its activities.
“We founded the Atiku Haske Organisation and merely invited Abba to join. He has neither contributed a naira to our activities nor holds the organisation’s certificate of registration,” Bakari said.
He added, “We are under no obligation to follow any directive from him. He is subject to our rules, has failed to meet our expectations, and is therefore dismissed as a member.”

The group reiterated that its members collectively decided to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and have no plans to join any other political party. It described Abba’s directive as a breach of its resolutions and core principles.
“The Atiku Haske Organisation is committed to the ADC and remains resolute in its support for His Excellency Atiku Abubakar. Abba’s directive is null and void. We challenge him to form his own group if he wishes, and urge him not to identify as a member of our organisation,” the statement concluded.

Abba’s defection to the APC took place at the National Assembly complex in Abuja on Thursday, where he was received by the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, and other APC leaders from the North-East.
He pledged support for President Tinubu’s second-term bid, citing the leadership style of Senator Barau and the policies of the Tinubu administration.
Following the move, the group he leads, the Haske Atiku Organisation, founded in 2022, was reportedly renamed the Haske Bola Tinubu Organisation to signal its alignment with the APC and the Renewed Hope Agenda.
