In a rare display of appreciation and royal gratitude, the Alayandelu of Odo-Ayandelu, Oba Asunmo Ganiu Aderibigbe, has gifted the sum of N500,000 each to three of his chiefs during the hosting of the Lagos State Ijebu Obas in Odo-Ayandelu, Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the monarch explained that the gesture was to honour the unwavering loyalty, dedication, and support of the chiefs who stood firmly with him from the day he ascended the throne till date.
He urged fellow monarchs to always recognise and appreciate those who support their reigns genuinely.
“These chiefs stood by me from the very day I ascended the throne till now. Loyalty deserves appreciation, and it is important that we honour those who support the throne with sincerity,” the Alayandelu stated.
The beneficiaries of the royal gesture include the Olisa of Odo-Ayandelu, Chief Olowougaba Lateef, and another senior chief of the kingdom, all of whom were visibly moved by the monarch’s kindness.
The Olisa of Odo-Ayandelu, speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressed deep gratitude to the Alayandelu for the honour and recognition.
“This is not just a gift, it is a motivation for us to continue serving the throne with honesty and loyalty,” he said.
Chief Olowougaba Lateef also appreciated the monarch, describing the gesture as a reflection of the Alayandelu’s leadership style.
“Kabiyesi has shown that loyalty is valued in Odo-Ayandelu. We remain committed to supporting him and the growth of this kingdom,” he noted.
The chiefs reaffirmed their continued support for the Alayandelu’s reign and pledged to uphold peace, unity, and development within Odo-Ayandelu and its environs.
