The Executive Chairman of Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali (MNSE, MNATE), has completed comprehensive restoration works on a public school facility that was earlier damaged by a windstorm, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to quality education and safe learning environments.
The windstorm had caused significant damage to the structure, disrupting academic activities and posing safety concerns for pupils and teachers.
In response, the Lekki LCDA administration embarked on a full-scale rehabilitation of the facility to restore functionality and improve learning conditions.
The restoration project included the installation of a new solid roof and ceiling, fresh interior and exterior painting, new flooring, improved toilet facilities, as well as the replacement of damaged windows and doors.
The school was also equipped with new whiteboards and a dedicated library space to promote reading culture and enhance academic performance.
Speaking on the intervention, Engr. Kasali said the project reflects his administration’s priority on education and child safety.
“We are committed to providing a safe, dignified and conducive learning environment for our pupils. Education remains a top priority for this administration, and we will continue to intervene where the need arises,” he said.
He added that timely response to infrastructure challenges in public schools is essential to safeguarding the future of children within the council area.
The completed rehabilitation has significantly improved the safety, comfort and overall learning atmosphere of the school, allowing teaching and learning activities to continue without disruption.
The intervention forms part of the broader education development agenda of the Lekki LCDA administration, which focuses on upgrading public school infrastructure, improving access to learning resources and strengthening basic education across the council area.
