An 18-year-old woman has reportedly attacked her 25-year-old husband with a knife, leaving him with a serious injury to his genital area. The shocking incident took place yesterday in Potiskum town, Yobe State.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Yobe State Police Command confirmed the attack in a statement released on Saturday. According to the Public Relations Officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, the suspect, identified as Khadija Jamilu, is still at large.

“Following the report, police operatives immediately visited the scene and rushed the victim to the State Specialist Hospital, Potiskum, for urgent medical care,” SP Abdulkarim said. “He was later referred to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Azare, where he is currently receiving treatment.”
Police authorities disclosed that efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspect are ongoing, and investigations into the case remain active.
In a separate statement, the Yobe State Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Ado, condemned the attack, stressing the importance of mutual respect, patience, and understanding in marriage. He emphasised that marriage should never be an avenue for violence, abuse, or humiliation.
