The West African Examinations Council has released the results of the 2025 Second Series Computer Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination for private candidates.
In a statement dated Monday, February 16, WAEC said candidates can now check their results online and proceed to access their digital certificates after confirmation.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the council advised candidates to visit its result portal to verify their performance before obtaining their certificates.
“Candidates may check their results by visiting www.waecdirect.org
to confirm their status before proceeding to the Digital Certificate platform at www.waec.org
to access released digital certificate copies.
“Candidates are required to apply online for printing of hard copy certificates through the WAEC Certificate Request Portal, e Certman. All candidates who sat for the exams are advised to carefully review their results and take necessary steps promptly, including accessing certificates and completing required applications online,” the statement read.
WAEC disclosed that 69,604 candidates registered for the examination, representing a 1.8 percent increase compared to the 68,342 recorded in 2024. Of the total number, 65,752 candidates sat the examination across 370 centres nationwide.
Among them were 235 candidates with special needs, including the visually impaired, hearing impaired and albinos.
The breakdown showed that 32,005 candidates were male, representing 48.68 percent, while 33,747 were female, representing 51.32 percent.
According to WAEC, 61,943 candidates, representing 94.21 percent, had their results fully processed and released. However, 3,809 candidates, representing 5.79 percent, still have some subjects being processed due to errors traceable to them. The council assured that efforts are ongoing to complete the processing.
Performance statistics revealed that 33,989 candidates, representing 51.69 percent, obtained credit and above in at least five subjects, with or without English Language and Mathematics. Meanwhile, 27,727 candidates, representing 42.17 percent, secured credit and above in five subjects including English Language and Mathematics. Of this number, 13,416 were male and 14,311 were female.

WAEC also disclosed that 1,899 candidates, representing 2.89 percent, had their results withheld over alleged examination malpractice. It stated that investigations are ongoing and decisions of the appropriate committee will be communicated to affected candidates.
