EKO HOT BLOG reports that the coordinated attacks targeted Community High School, L.A. Primary School, Esiele, and Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Yawota. Reports indicate that between 46 and 48 people were abducted during the incident, including teachers and pupils.
The development has sparked condemnation from celebrities, civil society organisations, and members of the public, who have called for urgent action, improved security, and accountability from authorities.
In a separate emotional video, the widow, Mary Oyedokun, appealed directly to the Federal Government, saying she only wanted her husband’s body recovered so he could be given a proper burial site for her family to visit in the future.
“I am begging the government to please recover the body of my husband. I want him to have a burial site for future reference,” she said in Yoruba.
Security agencies have continued rescue operations aimed at securing the release of the abducted victims. Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has also assured residents that both kinetic and non-kinetic strategies are being deployed to address the situation and ensure the safe return of those still in captivity.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu condemned the killing, describing it as barbaric, and reaffirmed that security agencies are intensifying efforts to rescue the remaining victims and bring the perpetrators to justice.
