Tinubu described security operatives as defenders of the country, noting that they continue to put themselves in harm’s way to safeguard communities from criminal elements.
He acknowledged the difficult circumstances under which troops and officers carry out their duties, pointing out that many serve in remote forests, waterways, highways, border areas and other challenging environments to keep Nigerians safe.

The president said the battle against insecurity has demanded enormous sacrifices from security personnel, adding that their efforts and dedication have not gone unnoticed by the government and the public.
Beyond the military, Tinubu extended appreciation to officers of the Police, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), intelligence operatives and community-based security groups contributing to national security.
He also recognised the role of families of security personnel, noting that they often endure long separations, uncertainty and emotional strain while their loved ones serve the country.
The president paid tribute to fallen heroes who lost their lives in the line of duty, describing their sacrifices as invaluable contributions to Nigeria’s survival, unity and stability.

Tinubu further called on citizens to actively support security agencies by providing useful and credible information that could help prevent crimes and strengthen ongoing security operations.
According to him, tackling terrorism and criminality requires collective responsibility and should not be left solely to security agencies.
He stressed that Nigerians must remain vigilant and cooperate with authorities whenever suspicious activities are observed.
Reaffirming his administration’s resolve to combat insecurity, Tinubu declared that the country would not allow terrorists, bandits, kidnappers or violent extremists to undermine its unity or dictate its future.
He maintained that the actions of criminal groups do not reflect the values of Nigerians and urged citizens to remain united against forces threatening the nation’s peace.
The president concluded by expressing gratitude to security personnel for their continued service and wished them safety as they carry out their responsibilities across the country.
