Represented by the Commissioner for Youth Development, Eno told the 1,471 corps members that they have a vital role to play in strengthening national unity and fostering peaceful coexistence among Nigerians.
He urged them to remain focused on values that promote peace, patriotism, and progress, stressing that the country needs young people who are committed to building a stronger and more united nation.

According to him, corps members should see themselves as agents of change capable of bridging cultural and ethnic differences while promoting understanding among communities.
The governor assured them that his administration would continue to prioritise their welfare and security throughout their stay in the state, noting that adequate measures had been put in place to protect lives and property.
He also encouraged the corps members to make full use of the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme, describing entrepreneurship as a practical pathway to economic independence.
Eno said the current realities of the labour market require young graduates to acquire skills that can help them create opportunities for themselves and others rather than relying solely on paid employment.
He urged participants to embrace innovation, creativity, and enterprise, adding that such qualities would position them for success after the service year.

Also speaking at the ceremony, the Commissioner for Youth Development, Dr. Ekerete Ekanem, represented by the Director of Administration and Supply in the ministry, Mr. Anthony Isonguyo, encouraged the corps members to actively participate in community development projects.
He said their contributions could make a meaningful difference, particularly in rural communities where development needs remain significant.
Meanwhile, the Akwa Ibom State Coordinator of the NYSC, Mrs. Akuagbaogu Rosemary, appealed to the state government to fulfil its commitment to improving facilities at the orientation camp.
She noted that recent rainfall had further affected some of the camp’s infrastructure and highlighted the need for urgent upgrades to enhance the welfare of corps members.
The oath of allegiance was administered on the corps members by the Chief Judge of Akwa Ibom State, Justice Ekaette Fabian Obot, who was represented at the event by Justice Ekpo Ntekim.
