The slain Organising Secretary of the Lagos State chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Toba Ajiboye, popularly known as Toba Ijaya, was laid to rest in Ketu, Lagos, on Tuesday amid emotional scenes.
Eko Hot Blog reports that family members, colleagues, friends and supporters gathered in large numbers to bid the union leader farewell, with viral videos showing mourners paying their last respects.

Ajiboye died after succumbing to gunshot wounds sustained when unidentified gunmen attacked his vehicle in the Fadeyi area of Lagos on Sunday evening.
The Lagos State Police Command had earlier confirmed the attack, saying a manhunt had been launched to apprehend those responsible for the killing.
Reacting to the incident, the Lagos State NURTW Chairman, Mustapha Adekunle, popularly known as Sego, described the late union leader as a loyal ally, trusted friend and committed member of the union.
“The news of the sudden passing of Comrade Toba Ajiboye has left me deeply saddened and heartbroken. He was more than an ally; he was a trusted friend and a true pillar of TeamSego and SegoNation. His friendship, unwavering support and selfless dedication to the union will forever remain etched in my heart,” he said.
As of the time of filing this report, the police had yet to provide an update on the investigation, with speculation continuing to trail the killing.
The burial also generated reactions on social media, where many users expressed grief over the incident, while others speculated about the circumstances surrounding the attack.
Authorities have, however, not linked any individual or group to the killing, and investigations remain ongoing.
