Chelsea have confirmed the signing of experienced England striker Danny Welbeck from Brighton and Hove Albion.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the London club announced the transfer on Saturday, confirming that the 35 year old has signed a contract until 2028 and will join Xabi Alonso’s squad.

Welbeck scored 13 Premier League goals in 37 appearances for Brighton last season. He previously played for Manchester United, Arsenal and Watford.

During his career, Welbeck won the Premier League, two League Cups, the Community Shield and the FIFA Club World Cup with Manchester United.

Akinsanmiro Joins Monza

Meanwhile, Nigerian midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro has joined Serie A side Monza from Inter Milan on loan, with an obligation to buy if specific conditions are met.

The 21 year old began his career at Remo Stars before joining Inter in 2023. He has also spent time on loan at Sampdoria and Pisa.

Akinsanmiro has made one appearance for the Nigerian national team, earning his debut during a friendly against Egypt in December 2025.

Akpoguma Joins Frosinone

Super Eagles defender Kevin Akpoguma has also completed a free transfer to Serie A club Frosinone after leaving Hoffenheim.

The 31 year old has signed a two year contract until June 2028, ending his 13 year stay with the Bundesliga club.

Akpoguma made 175 Bundesliga appearances for Hoffenheim and also had loan spells at Fortuna Düsseldorf and Hannover 96.

Born in Germany, the defender represented the country at youth level before switching allegiance to Nigeria in 2020. He has since earned eight caps for the Super Eagles.
