Residents of Oriba Community have benefited from the Monthly Rural Health Outreach organised by the Epe Local Government as part of ongoing efforts to improve access to quality healthcare at the grassroots.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the outreach, an initiative of the administration of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun, FHTI, brought free medical services directly to the community, providing residents with access to essential healthcare without financial burden.
During the exercise, beneficiaries received free medical consultations, treatment for common ailments and essential medications, while healthcare professionals attended to men, women, senior citizens, pregnant women, nursing mothers and children.
As part of the intervention, children under the age of five were administered routine immunisation vaccines, while those who had previously missed their scheduled vaccinations were also immunised to protect them against vaccine-preventable diseases.
The exercise recorded an impressive turnout, with residents expressing appreciation for the initiative, which continues to bridge healthcare gaps and improve access to essential medical services in rural communities.
The council reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining the monthly outreach programme, describing it as a vital component of its efforts to strengthen primary healthcare delivery, promote preventive healthcare and improve the overall well-being of residents across Epe Local Government.
The administration noted that the continued success of the programme reflects its determination to ensure that quality healthcare remains accessible to every resident, regardless of location.
