Villarreal coach Inigo Perez has accused Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen of coming onto the pitch “to fight” following the Nigerian’s confrontation with defender Santiago Mouriño during Galatasaray’s 2 1 pre season defeat to Villarreal on Saturday.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that The incident occurred in the 37th minute when Mouriño used his body to block Osimhen’s run into the penalty area as the Galatasaray striker attempted to meet a cross.
Osimhen reacted angrily and shoved the Uruguay defender to the ground before players from both sides intervened.
Referee Kadir Sağlam booked both players following the confrontation.
Speaking after the match, Perez criticised Osimhen’s reaction and questioned the circumstances surrounding the incident.
“There is not much to say about football, because the opposing team didn’t come onto the field to play football, but to fight,” Perez said.
“Osimhen attacked our player out of nowhere and only got a yellow card.”
The confrontation came after Osimhen had already made an impact for Galatasaray by scoring their equaliser in the fifth minute.
Villarreal took an early lead through Ayoze Perez before Osimhen rose above the Spanish defence to head Eren Elmali’s cross into the net.
The goal levelled the contest before Georges Mikautadze restored Villarreal’s advantage shortly before half time.
Galatasaray were unable to find another equaliser as Villarreal held on to secure a 2 1 victory.
The defeat gave Galatasaray their third loss in five pre season matches as the Turkish champions completed their preparations for the new campaign.
Galatasaray finished their pre season campaign with one win, one draw and three defeats.
The Turkish side opened their preparations with a 5 1 victory over Umraniyespor before suffering defeats against Monza and Venezia.
They then played out a 3 3 draw with Rennes before ending their preparations with the defeat against Villarreal.
The latest loss also increased frustration among Galatasaray supporters, who voiced their displeasure over the club’s transfer activity.
Galatasaray will now turn their attention to the Super Lig, where they begin their title defence on Friday with a home fixture against Corum.
